Overview: Around 8kms from Arsikere is a beautiful township of Haranahalli. There are two temples Keshava and Someshwara. The temple was locked early in the morning. So we asked the whereabouts of the priest which was not very far from the temple. The priest gave us the keys and we went inside the Keshava temple. The early morning scene in the temple premises was adding to the beauty. The carvings were excellent on the outer walls but from the interior it was too dark. The ceilings were decorated amazingly. In the meantime the priest asked his assistant to open the doors of the Someshwara temple which was on the other side of the road.             The Someshwara temple also was nice and beautiful but it was not maintained properly and bushes had grown all around the temple. The authorities should work on the restoration of this temple. The temple also had beautiful carvings on the walls of various deities in different poses. The ...

Overview: Colonia is the oldest town in Uruguay and has been a centre of dispute between Portugal and Spain over the rule. Many agreements resulted between these two nations on who will continue in these regions. The Barrio Histórico (historic quarter) section of Colonia del Sacramento is designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The historical section of Colonia, which has some cobblestone streets built by the Portuguese in the 17th century, is within walking distance of the ferry terminal. Overview: We heard of Virupakshi in the Mulbagal tourism website and wanted to visit this. Its around 4kms from Mulbagal town and has a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which has the architecture similar to the temple in Hampi. We reached Virupakshi in the afternoon so the temple was closed. But we got enough time to appreciate the temple architecture and design. It is believed that on certain days, the sun rays fall directly on the Shiva Linga in the Sanctum Sanctorum. This temple belongs to the Vijayanagara period and was built in the 12th century. We also saw a small shrine dedicated to Lord Venugopalaswamy inside the temple complex. There is also a tank(Kalyani) outside which is now in a sorry state.             Nearby we went to Bangaru Tirupati temple which is around 6 kms from Bethamangala.
